Iron Maiden have sold their incredible music catalogue, name, image (including their mascot, Eddie), and likeness to Pophouse, the entertainment company co-founded by ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus.

With the acquisition comes a partnership with Iron Maiden. The band’s co-manager, Andy Taylor, has developed the move alongside Pophouse to enable the band to pursue “new creative ventures.”

Variety and Billboard note that the entertainment company acquired a 50% “stake” in Iron Maiden’s assets; further financial terms remain undisclosed.

Pophouse acquires and develops artists’ brands, with a roster including Iron Maiden, ABBA, Avicii, Cyndi Lauper, KISS, Swedish House Mafia, and Tina Turner. The company has fronted artist-centric projects including ABBA The Museum, the Avicii Experience, ABBA Voyage, and more, and has already unveiled projects with Iron Maiden.

Teaming up, Pophouse and Iron Maiden showcased their first creative collaboration at the band’s inaugural Eddfest at Knebworth last weekend, introducing the Infinite Dreams Museum Experience. They’re also collaborating on the impending release of Iron Maiden’s cinematic capture of their Run For Your Lives 50th anniversary tour.

Pophouse CEO Jessica Koravos said of the collaboration, “Iron Maiden is a band whose remarkable longevity and rich catalogue open up countless creative possibilities.

“With Pophouse’s partnership, the band now has the investment and creative firepower to keep evolving for decades to come. It is a privilege to support Iron Maiden in this new chapter and to help carry their extraordinary legacy forward for the fans who have built this global community over the past 50 years.”

The band’s manager, Rod Smallwood, added, “I am very excited about our relationship with Pophouse and the ability we now have to pursue, facilitate, and finance our many plans and dreams quicker than we ever hoped.

“The interest in the band has never been bigger and this strategic partnership, which we’ve been quietly working together on now for over a year, has already had results with the progress on ‘The Infinite Dreams’ museum and the filming of the current show. The fans can be assured there is a great deal more to come for Maiden, and Eddie will rule, OK!!”

Iron Maiden return to Australia in November to celebrate 50 years of hits. Due to demand, extra shows have been added to the tour. For the tour, they’ll be joined by special guests Megadeth.
