Eminem also took the time to look back on his somewhat divisive 'Encore' album, claiming it could have matched the calibre of 2002's 'The Eminem Show'.

After decades of involvement in each others’ careers, Eminem has said he’s open to crafting a joint record with fellow hip hop veteran 50 Cent.
The pair have been inextricably linked for over two decades now, when 50 Cent’s Guess Who's Back? mixtape caught the attention of Eminem in 2002, who promptly signed 50 to his Shady Records label. His debut album, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’, arrived the following year, topping charts around the world and earning five Grmamy nominations.
Since then, both artists have been busy with their own respective careers, but have occasionally either worked or toured together when time permits. Most recently, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre (who in turn discovered Eminem) featured the pair on their Doggystyle album earlier this month, having them collaborate on the track Gunz n Smoke.
They had also collaborated previously on the likes of Ed Sheeran’s Remember The Name in 2019, while 2022 featured both the release of the previously-unheard Is This Love ('09), and appearances during Dr. Dre’s Superbowl Halftime performance.
However, in a new interview with DJ Whoo Kidd alongside manager Paul Rosenberg, Eminem has touched on the topic of a joint album with 50 Cent at long last.

“That would be great,” Eminem said of the potential collaboration “I think that we just gotta stop bullshitting and just do it.
“I would never say it’s not possible, what the fuck?” he added.
Elsewhere in the 30-minute chat, Eminem also reflected on the reception of his Encore album, which turned 20 years old in October.
Famously, the record received a somewhat less-than-stellar critical review upon its release, despite its chart-topping success. According to Eminem, much of the record’s muted impact is partly due to the likes of songs such as Bully, Can I Bitch, We As Americans, and Love You More leaking ahead of its release.
“That album actually would’ve been right there with The Eminem Show if we hadn’t had those leaks,” Eminem claimed. “If the leaks wouldn’t have happened, it would have been the best songs from Encore. It would have definitely been a more solid album.
As he continued, Eminem looked back on that period of his life (which was largely clouded by a haze of drug use), explaining that while his life was tumultuous, the material he was making still holds up.
“I don’t hate that album, by the way. I don’t hate it,” he explained. “I just hate when I think back to that time where I was in life. I hated what I was doing — drugs — and where I was at personally. Going back to that time, I cringe when I think about that shit. But I don’t hate the actual body of work.
“There are a couple of songs that were probably a little too goofy; I should have left off,” he continued. “But for the most part, I’m still happy with that album. I don’t think it matched the calibre of The Eminem Show, but there were still some songs I really did put a lot into.”
