Following shows announced in Queensland and NSW, Sir Elton John has locked in a show in Hobart after 27 years.

It will be the fourth show announced on the respected singer's Once In A Lifetime tour, in which he's vowed to visit and perform in Australian cities he has not been to yet, such as Cairns and Wollongong.

Hobart, however, is a place John has visited and loves.

"I played in Hobart twenty seven years ago… which I admit is far too long. I simply cannot wait to return to Tasmania and its wonderful audiences. My band and I are really looking forward to being in Australia this September – I love coming back," he says.

Sir Elton John will head to Hobart on 27 September.
