It’s only been two months since Canadian hip hop icon Drake released a new record, but already he’s hard at work on a follow-up.
Drake’s most recent release was Some Sexy Songs 4 U, which arrived on February 14th as a collaborative album alongside fellow Canadian producer PartyNextDoor. Unveiled during his time in Australia, the record was a big success for the musicians, peaking atop the charts in the USA and Canada, and hitting #2 in Australia.
As it was, the album was Drake’s first major release since 2023’s For All The Dogs, and was a banner moment for his legions of fans. Now though, Drake has claimed he’s already working on a new record.
As Billboard reports, Drake appeared on on a Kick livestream with Adin Ross over the weekend where he thanked his supporters and teased a follow-up release. “Thank you to everybody that’s streaming the album,” Drake noted. “Every time, every journey. Working on a new album, it’s a slap.”
Though Drake didn’t further details about the prospective release, he did take the time to note that 2013's Nothing Was The Same and 2022's Honestly, Nevermind were the entries in his discography he felt the most pride for.
These past few months have been a little on the rougher side for Drake, who found himself down in Australia recently while his feud with Kendrick Lamar reached new global heights. Alongside Lamar’s Not Like Us taking home a number of awards (including Record and Song Of The Year) at the Grammys, the track also reached a record audience thanks to Lamar’s appearance on the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Drake, meanwhile, also cut short his Australian tour dates due to a “scheduling conflict.” Though rescheduled dates have been promised, the rapper hasn’t performed live since his Melbourne show on February 9th, and no further details about an Aussie return have been revealed.
