The music industry's night of nights has wrapped up, with Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, and Chappell Roan all emerging as big winners.

It’s been a big night for Kendrick Lamar at this year’s Grammy Awards, with music’s night of nights wrapping up following a huge ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Taking place at the Crypto.com Arena, Lamar was just one of the many artists whom the eyes of the music world were set upon.
The others, of course, were Beyoncé, whose 11 nominations set a record for a female artist and saw her become the most-nominated artist in history; and Chappell Roan, who was tipped to be a hot contender of taking out the Grammy’s ‘Big Four’ awards.
Instead, the Big Four were distributed healthily amongst the three acts, with Beyoncé taking home a very respectable three awards. These included Album Of The Year and Best Country Album for Cowboy Carter, while her Miley Cyrus collaboration II Most Wanted was awarded Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
Lamar, however, was the night’s biggest winner with five trophies to his name. These all revolved around his culture-defining rap beef with Drake, Not Like Us, which took out Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video.

Roan ultimately only won one award from her six nominations, taking out the coveted Best New Artist trophy. The newly-minted Hottest 100 winner used her speech to rally for healthcare
“I told myself if I ever won a Grammy and I got to stand up here in front of the most powerful people in music I would demand that labels and the industry profiting millions of dollars off of artists would offer a livable wage and healthcare, especially to developing artists,” Roan, whose rocky start in the industry has been well-documented.
“Because I got signed so young, I got signed as a minor, and when I got dropped I had zero job experience under my belt and like most people I had a difficult time finding a job in the pandemic and could not afford health insurance,” she added. “It was so devastating to feel so committed to my art and feel so betrayed by the system and so dehumanised to not have healthcare. If my label would have prioritised artists’ health, I could have been provided care by a company I was giving everything to.
“So record labels need to treat their artists as valuable employees with a livable wage and health insurance and protection. Labels, we got you, but do you got us?”
The rest of the evening was packed with a myriad amazing artists and their respective wins, including Australia’s very own Tame Impala, who took out Best Dance/Electronic Recording for his Justice collaboration, Neverender. Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker had previously been nominated four times previously.
Elsewhere, Sabrina Carpenter took out Best Pop Vocal album for Short n' Sweet and Best Pop Solo Performance for her Espresso single. The Mark Ronson and FNZ remix also won Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical. Charli XCX also took out three awards from eight nominations, with Brat Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Recording Package, while her track Von Dutch took out Best Dance Pop Recording.
Best Rock Album went to The Rolling Stones’ Hackney Diamonds while The Beatles won Best Rock Performance for Now And Then, and St. Vincent's Broken Man was named Best Rock Song. St. Vincent wasn’t done there, though, with Flea winning Best Alternative Music Performance and her All Born Screaming record taking out Best Alternative Music Album.
The heavy category category was closed out by Gojira with Best Metal Performance going for their 2024 Olympic Opening Ceremony performance of Mea Culpa (Ah! Ça ira!).
