Ed Sheeran was the one who may have accidentally revealed the project's true members.
A new single has appeared from artist Rain Radio on streaming platforms titled Lighters Up, and fans are speculating it's the secret side project of Fred Again.. and his brother.
Funnily enough, in 2021, Ed Sheeran was the one to reveal that Fred and his brother have a side project titled Rain Radio. He revealed the news when talking to Zane Lowe on his radio show about how Fred had inspired and written on his smash single Bad Habits.
Sheeran said to Lowe, "Fred, Fred Again.. who I made the tune with, him and his brother have this dance group called Rain Radio and their one goal is to make music that they can eventually get a Vegas residency and chuck cakes into the crowd."
He continued, "I finished the record, and I'm going to do a couple more weeks in the studio just to see what comes. I remember talking to Fred, and he was playing him and his brothers tunes, and he said, let's make the perfect Rain Radio tune for you guys. I had never really written dance music properly, and it ended up quite good."
The project's Instagram account posts a range of comedic clips and snippets half mocking the world of EDM. Glow sticks, DJs jumping everywhere and throwing pies on faces, the mysterious man behind Rain Radio is only ever seen wearing a bucket hat and balaclava.
Rain Radio was also recently on tour across the UK, where the aforementioned bucket hat anonymous DJ performed at clubs across October and November of last year. The DJ performance was only by one member.

While yes, Sheeran did confirm that this was Fred and his brother's side project, there is no guarantee that Fred is still involved with the project or worked on this track.
Rain Radio's debut single, Talk About, accidentally became a hit, now sitting on over 100 million streams on Spotify. It was released in 2021 with DJ Craig Gorman. The track samples Big Hoops (Bigger The Better) by Nelly Furtado and became a hit in the UK, debuting at No.44 on the charts. The song eventually reached the top 10 in both the UK and Ireland.
