Sad news for Blur fans, as frontman Damon Albarn is looking ready to hang up the band’s career once again.

“In the spirit of clarity and truth, this is probably our last gig,” Albarn told the Coachella weekend two audience towards the end of Blur’s set.

However, despite making his feelings clear regarding the crowd’s lack of participation last weekend, Albarn said the band’s decision to hang it up is “no reflection of Coachella,” which he called “beautiful.”

At another point during Blur’s performance, Albarn said, “I love Coachella, I love you. Really,” via Consequence Of Sound. He then compared the weekend two crowd with the weekend one, stating: “Yeah man, this is the truth of Coachella, isn’t it? The second week is music fans, people who appreciate music.”

You can watch the video of Albarn discussing “probably” Blur’s last gig below.

Last weekend, Albarn was unimpressed with the Coachella crowd after they didn’t get involved with a singalong of Blur’s tenth song on their set, Girls & Boys.

“You’re never seeing us again, so you might as well fucking sing it,” Albarn said. However, the follow-up track, Song 2, fared better, with the audience getting into the alt-rock classic.

Discussing the latter song’s impact, Albarn commented, “This song has been so good to us… But I did get shown a TikTok of it being kind of performed by a vacuum cleaner, which is, you know… It is humbling and inspiring at the same time.”

Albarn hinting at the band wrapping up isn’t all that surprising, as he revealed that he might be preparing to farewell Blur again in December.

“It is time to wrap up this campaign. It’s too much for me,” Albarn told French publication Les Inrockuptibles, per Far Out Magazine. “It was the right thing to do and an immense honour to play these songs again, spend time with these guys, make an album, blah-blah-blah.”

He continued, “I’m not saying I won’t do it again; it was a beautiful success, but I’m not dwelling on the past.”
