Darwin-based DJ and producer CYRIL has revealed that he’ll be postponing some upcoming tour dates (which shows will be postponed is currently unclear) due to an injury and recovery time.
On Monday (29 June), CYRIL shared a video of himself trying to rave while his leg was wrapped in a cast. Referencing his dominating single Stumblin’ In, he captioned the post, “Took stumblin’ in way too seriously,” and added, “POV: You were supposed to play at Tomorrowland but break your ankle the night before.”

He’s since uploaded two other videos wearing the cast, the latest one posted yesterday (2 August), in which he shares that he won’t be able to walk for three months and won’t return to “normal touring walking” for a year.
Due to the injury, some shows will be postponed. The DJ is currently touring and embarking on writing sessions in Europe.
“Hey guys, so I’ve just found out I won’t be walking for three months, and I won’t be back to routine walking for one year,” he began in a video posted to social media, panning to show his leg elevated in a cast.
Describing the injury and recovery time as “absolutely devastating,” the DJ managed to find an upside: he’ll have heaps of studio time. CYRIL posted the video while he was in Belgium with his friend and co-writer Alon. The pair have written a few songs together, with some set to appear on the Aussie star’s upcoming EP.
“I’m going to Amsterdam now to stay in the studio for a month and work on heaps of music,” CYRIL continued. In addition to working on new music, he unveiled plans to launch a Twitch channel to show viewers “how to produce.”
“I’m gonna be making heaps of different stuff; I started making techno yesterday as well. I’m very excited to get some music out but also very devastated that I have to postpone some of the shows. Thanks for the support, guys; I really appreciate it.”
That video was called Life Update (Part 1), so expect more news from CYRIL to arrive soon. The Music wishes him a speedy, smooth recovery.

Known for his remixes, which put a spin on older tunes – his hit Stumblin’ In is a take on the original 1978 Suzi Quatro and Chris Norman duet, while his latest single, Fall At Your Feet ft. Dean Lewis, is a take on the Crowded House classic. Last month, CYRIL revealed that he’s teamed up with Kita Alexander for a new version of the Spandau Ballet hit, True.
