The lawsuit also names Timbaland and Sony Music Entertainment
Canadian company Cirque du Soleil is reportedly taking pop superstar Justin Timberlake to court over his hit 2013 single Don't Hold The Wall, which the theatrical performance company alleges it copies part of one of their compositions without permission.
As SMH reports, the lawsuit filed against Timberlake also names co-writer Timbaland, aka Timothy Mosley, and Sony Music Entertainment, and says the The 20/20 Experience single took parts from Cirque du Soleil's tune Steel Dream, which came out on the album QUIDAM in 1997.
The lawsuit is asking for a minimum of $800,000 US dollars in damages for copyright infringement.
Since Sony released it in 2013, double album The 20/20 Experience has sold more than two million copies worldwide.

Earlier this year, Timberlake was sued by ‘70s R&B act Sly, Slick & Wicked over payment issues with a sample in Suit & Tie – also from The 20/20 Experience - as well as disco artist Perry Kibble, who claimed his 2006 Damn Girl single copied the hook, rhythm and melody from A New Day is Here At Last.
No statement has been issued by Timberlake or any other parties involved at this stage.
