Channel [V] And Game Of Thrones Score ASTRA Awards

Australian pay TV viewers voted Game Of Thrones as their favourite program in the International Drama category at the 11th Annual ASTRA awards announced last night. The US cable fantasy epic screens here on Showcase.

All other popular vote winners were garnered from Foxtel's The LifeStyle Channel: Kevin's Grand Designs (Favourite Program - International); Selling Houses Australia (Favourite Program - Australia); Shaynna Blaze and Andrew Winter (Favourite Personalities - Female and Male, both from Selling Houses Australia).

Channel [V]'s live music show The Riff won the Most Outstanding Light Entertainment Program category while Riff presenter Marty Smiley was named Best New Talent.

Australian drama series Tangle was also recognised during the awards ceremony: Most Outstanding Performance By An Actor – Female went to Catherine McClements; Most Outstanding Performance By An Actor – Male went to Lincoln Younes and the show itself won the Most Outstanding Drama prize.
