“I'm not sure what's happening.”
Melbourne indie punk trio Camp Cope have been forced to cancel a hometown in-store performance at Polyester Records this Friday due to singer Georgia Maq dealing with vocal issues.
Touring their debut record, Camp Cope, Maq has taken to Facebook to detail the “strained and painful” experience she has had during recent headline shows in Adelaide and Sydney.
“I've been really struggling with my voice,” Maq posted.
“I'm not sure what's happening but I can't seem to get through our set without it being strained and painful. I'm seeing a doctor tonight and a singing teacher tomorrow night, so hopefully it'll get diagnosed and I can start working through this.”

Maq was forced to pull out of a show with Pinch Hitter and Meridian at the Reverence Hotel following the band’s Adelaide album launch, during which she lost her voice.
The decision to cancel the in-store is in an effort to recover before the band’s Brisbane gig at Crowbar this Saturday, May 28.
Having only formed in 2015, the Poison City punk rockers haven’t slowed down since the release of their debut single, Lost: Season One, scoring a wealth of airplay and debuting at #2 on the Carlton Dry Independent Music Charts.
