More Busby Marou More Busby Marou

Queensland Music Trails have taken their Reef Trail to the next level, hosting the incredible talent of  Busby Marou at their Between The Tides event. The duo will play an exclusive preview of their new album Blood Red, out via Sony Music, live in its entirety.

"We're absolutely pumped to play at Cape Hillsborough beach in Between the Tides as the sun sets! It's going to be a couple of unforgettable nights as the first-ever band to perform there, and we can't wait to showcase our new album 'Blood Red' and jam out to some favourites," says Thomas Busby from Busby Marou.

Joining the duo will be a carefully selected lineup of local artists who will perfectly complement the talented headliners.

Between the Tides takes place between two tidal movements on Cape Hillsborough beach, offering a limited-ticket, unique, and intimate experience for fans to enjoy their favourite artist in one of the state’s most picturesque locations. It will also be the first time that any artist has performed on the beach at Cape Hillsborough, bringing music to a truly special location.

Qld Arts Minister Leeanne Enoch said the Queensland Music Trails’ Reef Trail and its signature event, Between the Tides, is set to create employment opportunities for musicians and arts workers, engage audiences, enhance cultural vibrancy, and deliver economic outcomes for Queenslanders.

"The Music Trails align with the priorities of Creative Together, our ten-year roadmap to transform the state through creativity, activating communities with rich arts and cultural experiences. The initiative is set to showcase our incredible landscapes, cultures and artists ahead of Brisbane 2032 – when Queensland will shine on the global stage,” says Arts Minister, Leeanne Enoch.

The Reef Trail follows the delivery of the Outback, Scenic Rim, and Southern Trails across April and May of this year. The continuation of Qld Music Trail’s program encourages Trail-goers to head north, moving from red desert and lush rainforests onto sun-drenched beaches. The continuation of the trails is the next step forward to putting Queensland on the map as a music tourism destination, driving domestic and international visitors to regional locations across the state.

Member for Mackay Julieanne Gilbert said Between the Tides was part of the Palaszczuk Government’s $20 million investment in Queensland Music Trails.

“Queensland Music Trails are part of our Towards Tourism 2023 roadmap for building new destination experiences in iconic regional Queensland locations. Between the Tides is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy new material from Queensland artists Busby Marou in the awe-inspiring surrounding of Cape Hillsborough National Park. We know when visitors arrive in Mackay for music experiences, they also enjoy our great lifestyle with local tourism operators and hospitality and accommodation providers. Queensland Music Trails have the potential to deliver millions of dollars and more good jobs for our region’s visitor economy.” says Member for Mackay Julieanne Gilbert.
