Brunswick Music FestivalInner Melbourne's Brunswick Music Festival returns this March, and today the 2026 programming has been revealed.
One of Melbourne’s longest-running and cherished annual events, the Brunswick Music Festival returns for its 38th year from Sunday, 1 March, to Sunday, 8 March. Produced by Merri-bek City Council and lovingly curated by local DJ MzRizk, the suburb’s contributions to music will be celebrated through another massive week of live events.
Per a press release, this year’s week-long event centres on community, with the programming reflecting the vibrant smorgasbord of music that shapes Brunswick.
The excitement begins on Sunday, 1 March, with the annual Sydney Road Street Party. The day will feature four stages with music spanning surf punk to South African jazz, Turkish classical to youth Pasifika harmonies. Plus, there will be pop-up acoustic sets as iconic venues welcome all punters.
Elsewhere, the festival has locked in performances by Alfi Antico & Go Dugong with Khaled Kurbeh and RAFET at Brunswick Ballroom, a multi-sensory journey presented by Rita Bass, and international bookings such as Japanese hip-hop beatmaster DJ Krush, Greek folk siblings Xylourides, French disco icon François K, and Indian jazz prodigy Ganavya.
Other performances include Horns Of Leroy, Fred Leone x Radio For Ghosts, Allysha Joy, Cool Out Sun, Jace Clayton and Pirritu, with the entirety of Brunswick coming to life: the Brunswick Ballroom, Howler, The Retreat, Jazzlab, The Bergy, Bar Spontana, Co Conspirators, Gilpin Park, and other venues will all host events.

More music will be presented through Merri-bek’s Neighbourhood Noise program, while Counihan Gallery, Brunswick Library, Next Wave, Balam Balam Place and Blak Dot Gallery are set to activate spaces with live performances, activities and interactive installations. The festival has also secured new partnerships, such as a pop-up exhibition at music store Found Sound, a collaboration with That Paper Joint, and artistic experiences at correspondences studio.
You can find tickets and specific event details on the Brunswick Music Festival website and keep up to date with updates via the festival’s social media accounts and dedicated mailing list.
Merri-bek City Council Mayor Nat Abboud said of this year’s festival, “For nearly four decades, the festival has championed local venues, artists and cultural expression, while welcoming extraordinary national and international talent to our streets, parks and neighbourhood spaces.
“Council is proud to present a festival that brings people together through music, shared experiences and a deep connection to place – having the festival curated by local legend MzRizk is something I’m personally really excited about.”
