“I wonder if Tay Tay knows she’s creating such issues….”

We’re officially less than three weeks away – 17 days, to be exact – from Taylor Swift landing in Australia with her highly anticipated Eras tour. That means that students – high school, university and TAFE alike, are planning their assignments, exams and absences from now.
One Brisbane school, Wynnum State High School, has responded to concerned families after being informed that some students (a number wasn’t specified) are travelling interstate to see Taylor Swift, with the school needing to be told if the students wouldn’t be back for an exam block on 27 February.
According to an email sent to parents by Deputy Principal Lisa Hawkin that InQueensland obtained, while the exam block hasn’t been finalised, the school requires knowledge of the number of students who will be away, so scheduling exams “could potentially be factored in”.
At the time of writing, the exam block is set to take place from 27 February until 1 March, possibly clashing with two Taylor Swift dates students could be attending on Sunday, 25 February and Monday, 26 February, at Sydney’s Accor Stadium.
“The date of the exam block cannot be changed; however, we are not unreasonable and propose the following. The timetable within the exam block is flexible; however, all students must sit the same exams at the same time,” Hawkin wrote in the email, per InQueensland.
The email continued, “If your child will not be in Brisbane on Tuesday, February 27 please let me know via email by Monday 29 January. We will endeavour to schedule the exams your child will sit later in the week.”

Hawkin quipped at the end of the email, “I wonder if Tay Tay knows she’s creating such issues….”
In other Taylor Swift news regarding her Australian tour, thousands of fans have signed a petition for G Flip to open for the Anti-Hero singer’s Eras dates down under after G Flip smashed a cover of Swift’s Cruel Summer.
Shortly after the cover was posted online, Swift herself came across it, subtly showing her approval with a ‘like’ on Instagram. Flip naturally reacted with amazement, and during an appearance on The Project, they agreed it was “100 per cent” the most important like of their career.
Taylor Swift’s Eras Australian tour begins on Friday, 16 February. Swift will perform three nights at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and four nights at Sydney’s Accor Stadium starting Friday, 23 February 2024. She is poised to break records at both venues.
Special guest Sabrina Carpenter will join Swift on all dates. Head here to find everything you need to know about the tour.
