The victim was sent to hospital with minor injuries

A bouncer was stabbed in Melbourne on Thursday night after two punters were ejected from Melbourne live music venue The Toff In Town, according to Herald Sun.

Reports say two punters were being removed from the venue and became violent, assaulting two staff members before leaving the premises.

One of the assailants later returned to the venue and stabbed a third security guard – who wasn’t involved in the first altercation – in the back with a small knife.

The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries, and the attacker has yet to be identified.

UPDATE, 7 April: As ABC reports, Victoria Police have arrested and charged a 25-year-old Footscray man with conduct endangering life, assault and weapons offences over last week's altercation, in which a bouncer was stabbed.

It is alleged by police that the suspect is responsible for knifing the 29-year-old North Melbourne-based security guard in the back, about 10.15pm on Thursday night.

The man has been released on bail, and will appear before the court on 30 June.
