The milestone should come as no great surprise to fans after their new single 'Pink Venom' debuted with the highest number of first-day views ever, notching up 90.4 million views in 24 hours.
Barely a week after making history as the second South Korean act to reach #1 on the ARIA charts with Pink Venom, and the first to do so on debut, BLACKPINK have notched up another piece of music history, becoming the first musical act to hit 80 million subscribers on YouTube.
BLACKPINK international fan account BLACKPINK Union shared a Tweet marking the new YouTube milestone.

The milestone should come as no great surprise to fans after Pink Venom debuted with the highest number of first-day views ever, notching up 90.4 million views in 24 hours. It is currently trending at #1 on YouTube with 255 million views. The momentum from that debut itself carried on from their Pink Venom performance at the 2022 MTV VMAs. That performance gave the track a further boost in the US, where it is currently sitting at #22 on the Billboard Hot 100.
BLACKPINK have also revealed that they will release a new single titled Shut Down on September 16. September 16 also happens to be the release date for their feverishly anticipated new album Born Pink.
The announcement of Shut Down follows the announcement of a world tour by the group, with a general on-sale date of, you guessed it, September 16.
Since debuting in August of 2016, the South Korean girl group featuring Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa have become one of the most successful groups on the planet, breaking through to the mainstream both at home and globally thanks to a collection of hits, hugely successful debut full-length The Album and a forward-thinking approach to fan engagement.
As reported by PopSugar BLACKPINK's Born Pink world tour will see them perform in Melbourne on June 10 and 11, Sydney on June 16 and 17 and also play one night in Auckland. They were last seen in Australia in 2019.
The tour will see Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa take the stage and belt out some of their most loved songs. Their record label YG Entertainment has declared that it will be “the largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group”.
