Beyoncé has released a new music video for her track BODYGUARD from her country music-influenced album, Cowboy Carter, but there’s a twist: she impersonates Pamela Anderson in the clip.
Sharing the music video with the caption “BEYWATCH,” the Single Ladies singer dresses in Pamela Anderson’s Baywatch-inspired swimsuit and a black bodysuit, akin to her character in Barb Wire. She wears a blonde wig with flowing, teased hair.
In her first music video since 2021, Beyoncé didn’t just cosplay as a beloved American icon; she also urged her fans to vote on the day of the US election. In one scene, she fires a toy gun that fires a flag with the word “Vote” on it. The striking video also aligns with Beyoncé’s belated “Beylloween” celebrations.
As The Guardian notes, Beyoncé has made her views clear when it comes to this year’s US Presidential Election. She hasn’t just endorsed Democrat nominee Kamala Harris but has allowed the Harris team to use her song Freedom as the soundtrack to their campaign.
Last month, Beyoncé appeared at a rally for Kamala Harris and said to the crowd of 30,000 people: “I’m here as a mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have [the] freedom to control our bodies, a world where we are not divided – our past, our present, our future meet us here.”
She also described Harris as a woman who has pushed for what the US “really needs.”

Beyoncé released her country music-influenced LP, Cowboy Carter, in March. She previously insisted that her latest effort “ain’t a Country album” but a “Beyoncé album.”
She added that her aim for Cowboy Carter is to reach a point where “the mention of an artist’s race, as it relates to releasing genres of music, will be irrelevant.” She gathered an impressive roster of special guests throughout the album, including Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, Shaboozey, Tanner Adell, and more.
Following the release of Cowboy Carter, Australian country singer Loren Ryan remarked that Beyoncé “made history” in country music.
