"All of our stages are running completely as scheduled."

Organisers behind Beyond The Valley have confirmed this year’s event will continue as scheduled despite a weather warning.

Yesterday, the festival shared important information about a “severe weather warning” via Facebook that predicted “excessive heat and very strong wind gusts” over the next couple of days, but organisers have told The Music the event will proceed as planned.

“The good news is all of our stages are running completely as scheduled,” a festival spokesperson told The Music.

“The weather, though still hot has not brought with it the much stronger winds as predicted at this stage, though this is being monitored constantly by our emergency crews for any change. We have decent cloud cover as well, so direct sun has only been in patches today.”

Beyond The Valley has implemented the below after close consultation with emergency services onsite:

  • Free water - Bottles are being dropped off at all camp sites and we have event staff driving around the festival handing these out.
  • Ice - Tonnes of bags of ice are available for sale, with shipments coming regularly to cope with demand.
  • Misting –  Numerous misting stations have been installed across the site offering respite.
  • Shade infrastructure around the site - We've developed this over the last 5 years and there's been a large investment in setting these up, working closely in consultation with emergency services and operations teams.
  • Increased foot patrols - We have increased foot patrols throughout the site to ensure there's no one left unattended in need of any assistance or information.
  • Shelter Message - We coordinated messaging through the BTV app and socials with weather warnings and safety instructions to ensure the message got out there.
  • Increased Shuttle Buses – We have booked extra shuttle services today for any patrons wishing to go into nearby Warragul.
