ARIA Award-winning Gamilaraay artist Thelma Plum is hitting the road this July and August, today announcing her first-ever national acoustic tour.

The I Don’t Play That Song Anymore run finds Plum dusting off her songbook and acoustic guitar for intimate shows of songs and storytelling. She’ll perform on stage in a duo format, offering a career-spanning set that spans her most recent album, the ARIA Award-winning I’m Sorry, Now Say It Back, as well as tunes from archived setlists.

Beginning at The Capital in Bendigo on Thursday, 9 July, the tour will see Plum travelling to many corners of the country, travelling to Horsham, Geelong, Warrnambool, Canberra, Richmond, Avoca Beach, Kalgoorlie, Bunbury, Albany, Bellingen, Eltham, Gold Coast, Eumundi, Devonport, and concluding at Hobart’s Theatre Royal on Friday, 14 August.

Tickets will be available from 10 am local time on Thursday, 28 May, via Thelma Plum’s website.

“I actually can’t believe that this is the first time I’ve done an acoustic tour,” Plum commented in a statement. She continued, “When I started out playing shows, it was just me and a guitar, but it’s been a long time since I’ve performed like that.

“It’s been a big year, I am working on a new record, and it feels like the perfect time to pack up the songbook and play some intimate shows with my friend Toby and let the songs and the stories behind them breathe! I hope to see you at one of the shows!”

Last year, Plum released her highly anticipated second album, the critically acclaimed I’m Sorry, Now Say It Back. The record earned the ARIA Award for Best Pop Release and saw her nominated for Album of the Year and Best Solo Artist. She also won Rolling Stone Australia’s Best Single Award for her track, Freckles.
