Beyoncé Announces 'Renaissance World Tour'

Beyoncé has announced the first dates of her upcoming world tour and confirmed that she's touring her latest album, Renaissance, after all. 

The pop music superstar is scheduled to begin the Renaissance World Tour this May and June in the UK and Europe before heading to North America throughout July, August and September. But where are the Australia and New Zealand dates? Check out the tour dates here.

Beyoncé's first live performance since the release of Renaissance occurred last month at the grand opening of Atlantis the Royal, a new luxury hotel in Dubai. Her first show in four years drew controversy from some music critics, as The United Arab Emirates criminalises homosexuality, while Beyoncé's latest album is in tribute to African American LGBTQIA+ dance music pioneers. She didn't perform any tracks from the album, released in July 2022.

The Single Ladies singer has been preparing to embark on a world tour for months. 

According to a December article in The Sun, Beyoncé aims to "make the tour a safe and friendly work environment". There will be background checks, including MeToo checks to ensure that there is no sexual misconduct happening amongst the crew. 

A source spoke to The Sun and confirmed that Beyoncé wants no drugs or alcohol on tour. "Bey knows the new performances will require intense choreography and precision, so everyone has to be clean and sober," the source said. "There won’t be any crazy partying on the road either.

Supporting her team during gruelling travel and shows, Beyoncé will provide mental health support while on tour. "She knows people are happiest when they know their well-being is fulfilled and wants to use what she has learned in the business to lead by example," the source added.

From Lemonade premiering through HBO, Homecoming landing as a part of a $60 million deal with Netflix and Black Is King with Disney; there's no doubt that Renaissance will follow a similar path. Renaissance was released earlier this year.

Beyoncé has been very busy since releasing Lemonade in 2016; she released a collaborative album with Jay-Z in 2018 under their family moniker, The Carters, titled Everything Is Love, and headlined Coachella in 2019, which landed alongside a documentary and live album HOMECOMING.

Then followed 2020’s Black Is King, a visual album released in support of and alongside 2019's The Lion King: The Gift, which featured collaborators Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell and more.
