They still put in a solid bloody effort, though
Aussie artists Bernard Fanning and In Hearts Wake couldn't quite dethrone the all-consuming Ed Sheeran's ÷ (Divide) from atop the ARIA Albums Chart this week, with their respective albums Brutal Dawn and Ark making still-impressive debuts at #2 and #3.
The solid results for In Hearts Wake in particular are further buoyed by their breakthrough result on this week's UK charts, where Ark made a debut appearance on two separate ladders. Fanning's 2016 full-length Civil Dusk, meanwhile, makes a reappearance inside the top 40 at #36.
The top-three reshuffle sees Sheeran's compatriot Harry Styles slip down from #2 to #4 with his self-titled album, while the British Invasion continues as The Beatles re-enter the charts at #5 for the 50th anniversary of Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Meanwhile, last week's #3 placer, Linkin Park's One More Light, takes a sizable tumble to #19.
Veteran Aussie punks Frenzal Rhomb show there's still fuel in their tank yet, with new album Hi-Vis High Tea cracking the top 10 to come in at #9, a few spots ahead of the next-nearest debutante, Bryson Tiller, whose True To Self falls just outside at #12.

There are plenty of other new faces throughout the rankings this week, including The Teskey Brothers (Half Mile Harvest, #18), Caitlyn Shadbolt (Songs On My Sleeve, #26), the late Elvis Presley (The Wonder Of You & If I Can Dream, #27), Lil Yachty (Teenage Emotions, #62) and cult-favourite Aussie trio Cable Ties (Cable Ties, #63), among other fresh entrants.
There are still only two Australian songs in the top 40 Singles chart — three, if you include Troye Sivan's featured role on Martin Garrix's There For You (#25) — but none inside the top 20, as Dean Lewis' Waves slips from #16 to #22 and Bliss N Eso's Moments (ft Gavin James) loses three spots to land at #33.
