The grants are worth $75,000 in total
Industry bodies PPCA and the Australia Council have announced their most recent round of recording grant recipients today, worth $75,000.
Among the six recipients of the grants are 22-year-old Gordi — Sophie Payten — who has been taking the world by storm since the release of her debut EP, Clever Disguise. She's won the Josh Pyke Partnership in the past and has already been signed to world renowned label, Jagjaguwar, home to Bon Iver. Gordi will be using the grant to mix, master and market her next release.
Aussie-born, New York-based artist Fascinator (Johnny Mackay from Children Collide) has also picked up a recording grant to record his sophomore full-length. He recently dropped the odd clip for new single, Oh Bukkake.
Other recipients this year include Melbourne jazz pianist/composer Barney McAll, Brissy-based singer/songwriter Robbie Miller and Northeast Party House's Sean Congues.

PPCA's Chief Executive Office Dan Rosen commented, "We are extremely pleased to have been able to partner with the Australia Council for a third successive year to give local artists an opportunity to create and record new music. We wish all of the recipients the very best with their recording endeavours.
"We look forward to hearing the recordings that emerge as a result of this funding. I would also like to thank the Australia Council for their ongoing assistance and look forward to our continuing partnership."
In the past, Courtney Barnett won the same recording grant to fund the creation of her ARIA-winning, Grammy-nominated record Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit.
