The indie vets have shows booked around the country till May
Augie March are following up the announcement that they will take to the Sydney Opera House stage for the first time in January by revealing their tour plans for most of the first half of 2015.
In the wake of their end-of-year performance at the sold-out Meredith Music Festival, on Saturday, December 13, Augie March will take Christmas off before starting the New Year in an arty fashion at Tasmania's MONA on Thursday, January 1. From there, they play the Opera House on January 25. before a short break to take them through to late March, when they'll play Adelaide's Her Majesty's Theatre (Friday 27) and Perth's Astor Theatre (Saturday 28). They'll play three shows throughout April, in Bendigo, Melbourne and Brisbane, before hitting further up the Queensland coast to wrap up in Cairns, at the Tanks Art Centre, on Friday, May 1, and Caboolture, for the Urban Country Music Festival, on Saturday, May 2.
It's a fairly extensive, unhurried jaunt ahead for the revitalised act, who returned to active duty after a six-year hiatus mid-this year with the revelation of their fifth full-length, Havens Dumb. They've been welcomed with open arms, too, netting a nomination for the inaugural Double J Australian Artist Of The Year Award (which was eventually won by Mia Dyson) as well as garnering broad acclaim for their new album, widely regarded as a solid return to form.
Tickets for Augie March's 2015 national tour are on sale now. See theGuide or check The Music App for a full rundown of dates, venues and ticketing info. Havens Dumb is out now via Dark Satanic Records/ Caroline Australia.
