Australia's Got Talent/X Factor star debuts at one while ARIA winners fail to dent top ten
It may have been awarded the Album Of The Year at the 2013 ARIA Awards this week, but that hasn't been enough to drag Tame Impala's Lonerism back into the ARIA Top 40 as few artists see any benefit of the exposure in relation to record sales. Lonerism ended up jumping from 88 to 46, despite some pundits believing it would reach the top 20 (it has reappeared at 23 in the Digital Albums sales chart though).
While ratings for the awards broadcast were up this year, any 'ARIAs bump' has to contend with a strong Xmas season sales bump at this time of year. Indeed the only real spikes to come from ARIA artists were rather modest. Flume's self-titled album has gained nine spots, up from 20 to 11, Birds Of Tokyo (who didn't actually win anything but opened last Sunday's ARIAs presentation) see their March Fires lift to 40th position and Hall Of Fame inductees Air Supply managed to creep into the Top 50 in 48th position with The Ultimate Collection. Dual 2013 ARIA award winners Guy Sebastian and Nick Cave both have their sets re-enter the top 100, Sebastian at 75 with Armegeddon and Cave's Bad Seeds album Push The Sky Away at 80 (Cave's new live album Live From KCRW managed a lower entry, at 93). ARIA awards performers Bliss N Eso re-entered Circus In The Sky at 82 while international guest Alicia Keys saw Girl On Fire back in at 86.
The number one album of this week comes courtesy of TV talent show star Taylor Henderson, who debuts in top spot with his eponymous LP, the only new entry in the top ten this week.
Soundwave visitors A Day To Remember have managed to debut in 13th position with their new record Common Courtesy, the third highest debut after Henderson and Britney Spears' Britney Jean (at 12). Other debuts include Delta Goodrem's Innocent Eyes Tenth Anniversary Acoustic Edition at number 22 and Kelly Clarkson's Wrapped In Red at 39.

Currently in Australia, John Legend has taken out top spot on the singles chart with All Of Me, switching places with Eminem and Rihanna's The Monster which is in second spot this week. It's Legend's first Australian number one.
The highest debut comes courtesy of Avicii, who is in 18th spot with Addicted To You, while Jason Derulo's Trumpets is at 22.
Vance Joy has seen a small spike after his ARIAs performance, moving up from 38 to 23 with the Riptide single, while only one track from the Flume and Chet Faker collaborative EP has managed to stay in the entire top 100 this week, with Drop The Game down 16 spots to number 37 (but entered the Streaming Tracks chart at 12).
