BACKGROUND CHECK:

Jaime Gough serves as the Managing Director of Concord Music Publishing ANZ. He assumed this role in 2022 after Concord, a global independent music publisher, acquired Native Tongue Music Publishing, the company his father, Chris Gough, founded in 2003. Prior to the acquisition, Jaime had been leading Native Tongue as Managing Director, overseeing its growth into one of the region's most proactive and respected independent publishers.

Gough's career in music publishing began at Native Tongue in 2005. He progressively advanced through the company, holding positions from Copyright & Royalties Manager to General Manager before taking on the lead executive role. His career, which also includes early work in artist management and music licensing, has seen him represent a wide range of high-profile songwriters and catalogues.

In addition to his role at Concord, Gough is highly active in the broader industry, holding board positions as the Chair of AMCOS (Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society) and as a Director of APRA (Australasian Performing Right Association), AMPAL (Australasian Music Publishers Association) and Support Act.

THE YEAR IN AUSTRALIAN MUSIC:

Concord has had a huge year in 2025. Apart from working with some of Australia’s hottest new acts, like The Belair Lip Bombs and Lithe, Gough spearheaded songwriting camps across New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, impacting over 100 artists. Concord also funded the first songwriting camp with the Black Music Alliance, bringing artists from the Australian-African diaspora to participate in a writing camp focused on synchronisation, including four US-based writers and a New York-based music supervisor.

Gough also chaired the Victorian Music Industry Advisory Council, which delivers advice to the state government and called on the government to develop a long-term industry strategy.

THE MUSIC SPEAKS:

Another incredibly busy music industry participant, Gough is always the first to show up when the industry needs leadership and commands the respect of his peers, not just because of the company he represents, but because of the person he is. With catalogues like Elvis Presley and Roy Orbison in your stable, you could be forgiven for resting on your laurels, but Gough leads from the front, championing his writers and pushing for cultural excellence as well as financial outcomes.
