Open Door Management has a new look and a new name.

The artist management company run by Chris O’Brien – Head Promoter at Destroy All Lines – and Josh Smith – self-managed musician of Northlane fame – has officially been rebranded as Immortal Music Group.

“Relaunching our company to Immortal Music Group is an incredibly humbling moment,” Chris O’Brien and Josh Smith commented in a statement.

They added, “We absolutely adore all the artists we work with and the brand-new additions to our growing family. We couldn’t be more excited for the future and to be working alongside an incredible team behind the scenes to continue building our artists’ careers.”

The change marks an evolution in the company’s identity and vision for the future, building upon its lasting impact. Along with the rebrand announcement, the company has added new artists to its roster and expanded its management team.

Immortal Music Group continues its metalcore, punk, and alternative leanings, today welcoming Aussie giants In Hearts Wake and French band Novelists to its roster. They join an existing roster starring Northlane, Make Them Suffer, Windwaker, Yours Truly, Reliqa, and the recent signees, Belle Haven. Brendon Padjasek, formerly Smith’s bandmate, has joined the company’s producer management division.

As well as the above updates, Immortal Music Group has introduced two new team members to the company. Jack Bergin – formerly of Void Of Vision, host of triple j’s CORE – joined the Immortal team earlier this year as its Head of Creative.

Joining Bergin is Kate Lawrence, Immortal’s new Marketing Manager. She brings eight years of marketing and artist strategy experience from labels such as UNFD and Domestic La La, along with a background in strategic marketing, product management, and artist development, presenting a sharp vision for the company.

O’Brien and Smith launched Open Door Management in 2019 to address management issues they’ve both experienced in the past, utilising knowledge from both sides of the industry.

“Part of the issue that some artists have is there’s just not necessarily a huge amount of clarity with what goes on in their careers,” O'Brien told The Music at the time of the venture’s launch.

He continued, “The idea is to be upfront and honest with them at all times. It’s their life, it’s their business, so we’re just there as guardians to guide them through it more than anything else and help them along the way.

“First and foremost, it’s about putting the power back in the artists’ hands and making sure they’re aware of what’s going on while helping guide their careers.”
