Nick Esmore has been welcomed by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) and the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA), taking on the newly created role of Finance Director. He commences the job on Monday, 5 May.

Esmore will oversee ARIA and PPCA’s finances, as well as the latter’s distribution, business technology, ARIA Charts, and HR portfolios. He joins ARIA and PPCA during a period of movement, as Chief Operating Officer Lynne Small announced her departure from the companies after almost three decades.

With Esmore joining the team and Small’s departure, ARIA and PPCA have announced the promotions of Rohini Sivakumar and Julia Robinson: the former as General Counsel and Company Secretary, and the latter as Head of Government Relations and Programs.

In a statement, Esmore said of his new role, “I’m really excited to join ARIA and PPCA, given the important role they play in supporting Australian music. It’s an incredible opportunity to bring my experience into an industry that’s as dynamic and creative as music, and I’m looking forward to contributing to its continued growth and success.”

ARIA and PPCA CEO Annabelle Herd added, “Nick brings exactly the kind of commercial insight, strategic thinking, and collaborative leadership we need as we move forward. He has a strong passion for music and will be a great addition to the team and the industry.

“With Lynne’s extraordinary legacy and incredibly generous support in the handover, we’re in a strong position for this next chapter.”
