After announcing ATHANASIA as the first independent artist to be a participant of its Ground Floor accelerator program in late October, UNIFIED Music Group and partners One Of One have announced the next artist to join the program.

Ground Floor was announced last September, being introduced as an accelerator program powered by UNIFIED’s Community Music ecosystem. The aim? To empower independent Australian artists who are ready to embark on “the next step in their careers.”

Utilising Community Music’s numerous resources, Ground Floor provides a six-month program of hands-on support, mentorship and guidance for rising homegrown acts. Community Music’s team assists artists by offering educational workshops to help them become release-ready.

UNIFIED Music Group recently announced its partnership with One Of One, and today, Hayku Kyah has been announced as the latest participant to take on the Ground Floor program.

Kyah is recognised for her “ethereal, vocal-driven narratives,” which take inspiration from the moon’s phases – she releases music under the slogan, “new moon, new music.”

Following the release of her 2023 EP, I Thought You Should Hear It From Me, Kyah was named FBi Radio’s Independent Artist of the Week. Last year, she was a finalist for the 2025 APRA Professional Development Award, and throughout her career, she’s performed at Strawberry Fields, Melbourne Music Week, and Melbourne Fringe.

On joining the Ground Floor program, Kyah said, “I’m super honoured to have won the One of One x UNIFIED Ground Floor Accelerator this year. I spent the morning in a room full of women and GNC people who work tirelessly to bring to fruition their wildest dreams.”

She continued, “This year would have been my mother’s 57th birthday. She left incredibly big shoes to fill. Today, I feel like I’ve grown an inch closer to filling those shoes, inspired by everyone I shared space with at the event.”

As the latest participant of the Ground Floor program, Kyah will receive six months of strategic mentorship from the teams at Community Music, UNIFIED Artist Management, Lonely Lands Agency, and The Annex.

The program also offers practical training in media, touring, strategy for releasing music on digital streaming platforms, sync, legal, and finance, in addition to release and marketing support and a guaranteed performance at a UNIFIED or Community Music event.

Artists interested in applying for Ground Floor, powered by Community Music, can apply now. Further participants will be announced throughout the year, with the initiative part of Community Music’s $10 million pledge to support the development of homegrown artists.
