Chatswood is home to a brand-new live music and performing arts venue, The Lounge.
The multi-purpose new space, situated within The Concourse Performing Arts Centre, will host live music, theatre, cabaret, drama, comedy, and other events.
For cabaret-style events, The Lounge will welcome 300 punters with premium tables and tiered seating and 500 attendees for standing concerts. The new venue also features state-of-the-art facilities, including high-end lighting, audio, and visual equipment, to put on a great show.
The Lounge is owned by the Willoughby City Council and funded and operated by Century Venues, which also operates and manages the Enmore Theatre, Metro Theatre, Manning Bar, Factory Theatre, and more.
The new space has live music lined up for the rest of the month, with American blues artist Eric Bibb performing tomorrow (24 May), Eskimo Joe on Sunday (26 May), and Ben Lee next week (29 May). Ash Grunwald is also set to perform at the venue in August.
In a statement, Greg Khoury, the Executive Director at Century Venues, said The Lounge fills an “important gap” in the New South Wales music scene.

“The Lounge will fill an important gap in the venue pathway between small and larger venues and theatres,” Khoury said. “Importantly, The Lounge is affordable and un-curated, making it accessible to a variety of producers and presenters – not just resident companies.”
Khoury continued, “The Lounge will also help to strengthen Chatswood’s vibrant arts scene and enhance the venue’s reach with new audiences. Century Venues is committed to continuing to invest in Sydney’s arts and culture sector, and we’re thrilled to unveil this new space for the benefit of the community and artists alike.”

Earlier this year, The Music reported that the number of venues hosting live music in New South Wales had jumped up by 84% in just a year as part of new Vibrancy Reforms.
NSW Premier Chris Minns said, “We made a promise to the people of NSW to double the number of live music venues across the state within four years, and that is what we are delivering.”
