Support Act have today (October 31) announced the ambassadors for this year’s Ausmusic T-Shirt Day: Amy Shark, Budjerah and Jimmy Barnes.
The news comes in tandem with a Community Service Announcement for the annual fundraiser, developed by Mushroom Creative House, which sees the trio of lead ambassadors performing INXS’ 1987 classic Never Tear Us Apart. It was filmed at the City Recital Hall in Eora/Sydney, and according to a press release, aims to “highlight the many people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring Aussie music to life and who, in times of need, can access help from Support Act through funds raised from Ausmusic T-Shirt Day”.
In addition to the leading trio, dozens of artists have thrown their support behind this year’s Ausmusic T-Shirt Day. Among them are Alex Lahey, Baker Boy, triple j’s Bryce Mills and Concetta Caristo, Busby Marou, Charlie Collins, Client Liaison, Dale Tanner (of Ocean Grove), Fiona Horne, Gretta Ray, Hevenshe, Jet, Josh Pyke, MAY-A, Monica Trapaga, Peach PRC, Randy Feltface, Veronique Serrett, Voyager, William Barton, and inaugural crew ambassadors Christian McBride and Juvi (of Yellow Beanie).
In a press release, Shark said of her role: "Ausmusic T-Shirt Day is such a special day and I’m so honoured to be an ambassador this year. November 30 is a day where we can all rally together, show our support of Aussie music and raise much-needed funds for Support Act who do amazing work for artists, crew and music workers across the industry.”

Adding to the conversation, Support Act CEO Clive Miller called this year’s campaign “our most exciting yet”, giving thanks to “Mushroom Creative House and all of the incredible artists who helped to make this vision come to life”.
He added: “We know all too well that in music, every little bit matters, so this Ausmusic T-Shirt Day, we ask anyone who loves Aussie music to show their act of support by wearing an Aussie music t-shirt and making a donation so that we can continue our crucial work supporting the fabric of the music industry.”
2023’s Ausmusic T-Shirt Day will take place on Thursday November 30. It’ll be supported by ARIA, triple j, Heaps Normal, Gildan Brands and AAMI, who have pledged up to $40,000 in matched donations. As usual, all money raised from Ausmusic T-Shirt Day will go to Support Act, helping fund their efforts to support musicians, managers, crew and music workers through crisis relief support, mental health and wellbeing programs, a bespoke hotline, and dedicated support for First Nations peoples.
Earlier this month, Carlton & United Breweries (CUB) pledged their support by announcing the inaugural LIV LOUD concert program. Some 40 venues around Australia will participate in the initiative, with each receiving a cash grant to host concerts on off-peak days across November. 37 shows have been announced thus far.
