OroAna and Nancy Bellydance
𝐎𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐧𝐚 (she/her) is a multi-disciplinary artivist (DJ) from Colombia living and working on Darkinjung country. At the heart of her work is supporting & elevating diverse Indigenous voices and traditions. As a Dj she works with diverse sounds inspired by roots music: organic instruments that express long stories of our human experience on earth, mixed with dynamic rhythms merging Afro & Latin beat, house and Caribbean blended with an upbeat lively flow. A dynamic Dj that can create cohesive sets of different genres (based upon request) from afrobeat/caribbean/folclor, AfroLatin house, electroroots down tempo or upbeat.
Oro_ana is excited to debut her first Middle Eastern electronic set in a unique collaboration with @nancy_bellydance with whom she has shared a profound dialogue around the richness and complexity of Middle Eastern soundscapes. Together, they are excited to share these ancient, evocative sounds with a modern twist at the @vividsydney Festival at the @lolothegypsycaravanstage ✨
@nancy_bellydance of proud Palestinian heritage, has been on a lifelong journey through the rich and vibrant world of Arabic dance and culture. Channeling raw vulnerability and expressive storytelling through dance, Nancy is a highly sought-after performer and teacher, deeply connected to the heart and soul of the traditions she represents.
