'Tribute to Died Pretty' - No Flowers No Wedding Dress

Perth band No Flowers No Wedding Dress will pay tribute to one of Australia’s most revered alternative rock bands, Died Pretty, with a special live performance of their landmark album Doughboy Hollow — performed from beginning to end.

Released in 1991, Doughboy Hollow is widely regarded as a high point in Australian independent rock, capturing Died Pretty at their most powerful, melodic and atmospheric. The album includes enduring songs such as “D.C.”, “Sweetheart” and “Godbless”, and has built a lasting reputation among Australian music fans.

For this special show, No Flowers No Wedding Dress will bring the complete album to the stage, celebrating the music, sound and legacy of Died Pretty in a rare full-album performance.

In the early 90's, No Flowers No Wedding Dress struck up a musical partnership inspired by their high school musical heroes. Deciding there were way too many band names starting with 'The', for a name they settled upon No Flowers No Wedding Dress - a line from the Bruce Springsteen song The River.

That musical partnership has seen out the 90's, spent a month touring Spain and has seen the band perform countless gigs and build an impressive catalogue of music and achievements.  The No Flowers No Wedding Dress gig roster has included many other respected Australian bands such as:

Died Pretty, The Black-Eyed Susans, Ed Kuepper, Weddings Parties Anything, The Falling Joys, Jackson Code, The Mark of Cain and Ice-cream Hands.
