Archer and The Open Sky Big Brass Band

A country blues crooner, a poet with a captivating voice, and a walking encyclopedia of forgotten Australian music, Archer (Archer Shepherd) is a walking bridge between the past and the present. Known for his deep immersion into the fabric of regional Australia, Archer has spent decades traversing the continent to document and preserve the voices, stories, and musical traditions of the land, transforming his findings into a raw, resonant style of Australian cultural storytelling.

Partnering with Melbourne jazz icon Eugene Ball, this current project blends Archer's smooth vocals with the powerful, nostalgic sounds of big brass bands, as for one night only at Belco Arts, Archer will be joined by the musicians of Canberra Brass.
