Fresh off the back of a successful debut year, Spotify have announced that its Turn Up Aus campaign is returning for a second outing.

First launched in April 2025, the Turn Up Aus campaign is described as Spotify’s “love letter to the Aussie music industry and the fans behind it”. An undertaking designed to celebrate Australia’s passion for homegrown sounds, Turn Up Aus takes it back in the form of a classic pub gig, with the series featuring exclusive fan-first events which look to put local acts front and centre.

Last year, the likes of Spacey Jane, ONEFOUR, and Alison Wonderland all took part in a series of acclaimed events across Melbourne and Sydney.

This year, it’s a residency at The Bat & Ball in Sydney, with the gig series seeking to bring fans closer to artists than ever before as part of a range of completely free gigs in which top fans of each act will be invited to attend a once-in-a-lifetime, intimate show.

If fans miss out on an invite, however, all is not lost, being given a chance to enter to win one of four double passes to the show, along with one major prize for two lucky winners who will be flown cross-state for the gig of their life.

This year, the line-up includes a performance from Hooligan Hefs on June 24th, with a show from Genesis Owusu following on June 29th. More artists are still to be announced, ensuring it's an affair to remember.

“Linking up with Spotify for Turn Up Aus and getting back in a room with fans in the city where it all started for me is big,” Hooligan Hefs says of his involvement.

“These are the people who’ve been backing me from day one and showing love throughout the journey. Australian music’s got its own sound and its own stories, and the more we back local artists, the bigger we can take it.”

“Always excited to have an opportunity to commiserate with my people via music and art!” adds Genesis Owusu. “It’s so cool to be able to be a part of this intimate session with some of the people who support me the most. See you in the real world."

Since its launch, Spotify’s Turn Up Aus has managed to support more than 500 Australian artists through editorial, marketing, and live events, and has also seen local acts placed on more than 1,000 billboards around the world.

Additionally, more than 2,000 fans have become closer to their favourite artists thanks to exclusive live events and experiences, while the campaign has managed to fuel marked growth in local music consumption, with Australian artists streamed 223 million more times by Australian listeners in 2025 compared with 2024.
