Every time you think you have Camila Cabello pegged, she switches direction and dominates yet another chart-topping era. She’s a household name, with a successful solo career spanning prior to the release of her debut album. As a former member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, she stood out with her impressive, dynamic vocals – her range truly is something to behold, and her live performance skills sell out shows across the globe.
Entering the music industry as a season two contestant of the X Factor (yep, we didn’t forget!), Cabello did not waste a moment of her earned profile with her debut album Camila, bringing her immediate success with Havana. Drawing from her Cuban heritage, Cabello brings a fresh, soulful sound while proving to be a serious pop contender.
Cabello’s earlier hits are just the beginning. Her new album, C,XOXO makes Cabello a pop girlie of the moment, with fans of Charli XCX, Tate McRae and Chappell Roan boasting the album as an essential for the genre. With Cabello’s Yours, C tour kicking off in August with shows in Melbourne and Sydney, plus the Frontier Member presale live today, we are channelling our excitement into designing our dream setlist.
Cabello and Drake are the perfect pair in this fast-paced track, with the chorus of “two hands on my waist, one hand on your face” making for an instant earworm and compelling image. The fast-paced beat and back and forth between Cabello and Drake is a fun format, and the song experiments with different backing audio and pace throughout.

Whether you love or hate Drake, this track shows off his chops as a collaborator, with his voice seamlessly supporting Cabellos' diverse range. Sure, it’s pretty unlikely Drake will tag along on tour to perform this one live, but we can dream! Hot Uptown is just one of the thrilling collabs from the album, with I LUV IT starring Playboi Carti launching Cabello’s entrance to hyperpop, and HE KNOWS featuring Lil Nas X – she has a voice that works by any artists’ side.
While Cabello is in her cheeky, hyperpop and electronic-pop-fuelled era with the release of C,XOXO - Shameless takes us back to Cabello’s angsty side of her art, which we love just as much. It’s a classic that is vulnerable and raw, and her vocals absolutely dominate.
The lyrics, “My emotions are naked, they're taking me out of my mind” perfectly summarise the heartache that is so present in this 2019 release. Heartbroken or not, it’s hard not to feel the heart of this song and want to belt it out with a fevered Cabello.
Cast your mind back to 2017 when the Cuban-inspired Havana made its way onto the radio and immediately put Camila and her debut self-titled album on the map. Young Thug’s performance on the track is the perfect accompaniment to the laidback vibe and sultry lyrics that Cabello brought to this instant hit, which was so different to any sound we were hearing in 2017. It is no surprise Havana made it to number 1 on Billboard Hot 100 in the US, so we hope it will make an appearance on tour later this year as an encore as it has on previous shows.
In a similar vein to Havana, Señorita is rooted in its Latin influence. The success of Señorita was immediate and the chemistry between her Shawn Mendes was undeniable. Fans were, of course, speculating whether the two were together at the time of the release, sending all into a frenzy. We can absolutely see this slow, sultry number being a fan-favourite live.
In case you forgot about this one, My Oh My is the fun, bouncy track, with the lyrics transporting us back to our late-teen antics. We love the duality of Cabello, and My Oh My is the perfect example. On the same record, Cabello was banging out Latin-inspired love ballads and pop tunes, and then My Oh My gives us whiplash as we plunge into foundational pop. The pace, lyrics and attitude of the song give high levels of Britney Spears’ Gimme More, and we love to see it from Cabello.
Perhaps the most underrated single from C, XOXO, June Gloom opens with a lowkey intro as Cabello showcases her silky smooth, breathy vocal range. An effortlessly modern pop song, Cabello highlights the tenderness of the song when she sings, “The truth is, honey, you’re all I think about.” Distorted guitars are layered throughout the track, which samples Hotel Room Service by Pitbull. If you love what you hear on June Gloom, you’ll love B.O.A.T. and Chanel No 5.
This certified four-time Platinum single was the song of the moment when it was released in 2017, and it has resonated so much that it continues to be covered by high-profile artists in all genres, such as Keith Urban and Wolf Alice. The high-pitched vocals, pleading lyrics and catchy chorus make this song forever relevant and commendable for its success on a debut album. It’s easy to imagine the crowd singing “It’s you, babe, and I’m a sucker for the way that you move, babe” back to Cabello on stage.
If there was ever a song to get you on your feet and moving, Don’t Go Yet is it. The lively guitar and traditional Latin sound underpin the short but memorable track. Cabello once again blends her pop and Latin influences seamlessly, bringing a unique sound to the masses. The instrumental and backing vocals in this track are just bursting with energy and begging to be played on stage with a band. When pop starts to sound all the same, Don’t Go Yet is an instant palate cleanser and one we cannot get enough of. If tour-goers hear that recognisable guitar solo at the top of the song on tour, Cabello is sure to get everyone up and moving.
