Phoebe Bridgers - I Can’t Wait

As The Music’s Jacob McCormack writes, the delicate I Can’t Wait reveals the potency of love, as American hitmaker Phoebe Bridgers dances with the experience of facing separation from a lover.

“You can change your mind/But you can’t change mine/Hyde Jekyll Hyde/You and I forever,” she sings. It’s a stirring departure from the overwhelm of grief, but one that recognises the relationship each has with one another. 

Crooked Colours - Freo Dream

Freo Dream, the catchy hype track for the Fremantle Dockers by Crooked Colours – the project of Philip Slabber – is heightened by energetic vocals from Zafty and a co-sign from the AFL club itself.

Kate Miller-Heidke – Butterflies

Anchored by acoustic guitars and emotive vocals, Butterflies follows Kate Miller-Heidke’s vision for her just-released album, The Kiss And The Abyss: melding modern production, sounds and vocals with her first passion, folk music.

Logic1000 – Jersey (feat. Jam City)

Australian electronic music artist Samantha Poulter – better known as Logic1000 – has returned with the electrifying Jersey, which features British electronic music producer and DJ Jam City on a radio-ready tune.

Rise Against – Living Undercover

What does a good Rise Against song need? Passionate vocals from Tim McIlrath, interesting melodies, engaging instrumentation, a strong bridge, and empowering lyrics. Living Undercover, a surprise single from the US punk rockers, ticks all the boxes in effortless fashion.

Grace Cummings – Bloodhorse!

There’s nobody out there who sings like Grace Cummings. On her new album, Bloodhorse!, and on the title track, she sounds like she’s having a grand old time, with driving percussion layered behind her velvety vocals.

Jungle – Sunshine
