Set Times, Site Map & More: Everything You Need To Know About Dermot Kennedy's MISNEACH

There’s just a matter of weeks to go until the launch of MISNEACH, the massive music festival curated and headlined by Irish superstar Dermont Kennedy. Now, all the pertinent details have arrived.

First announced back in October, the inaugural Australian edition of MISNEACH dropped its lineup back in November. As expected, Kennedy is right up top, with an exclusive performance from The Frames also on offer. You'll also be able to catch the likes of Matt Corby, Kneecap, Meg Mac, Amble, Sorcha Richardson, and more on the eclectic bill.

Held on St. Patrick's Day eve at The Domain in Sydney on March 16th, it’s a celebration of Irish music, culture, and more, held in partnership with Ireland Music Week. Named for the Gaelic word for ‘courage’, MISNEACH aims to showcase an incredible lineup of artists blending contemporary and traditional Irish music alongside celebrated Australian acts.

As Kennedy explained upon its announcement, the event is one that is special to him, and something he hopes to become a recurring event.

“For so many years now, I have watched the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in so many different cities with a massive sense of pride,” Kennedy explained in a statement, noting he hoped to elevate Ireland’s presence around the world. “For a country so rich in culture, I didn’t see it being represented fully in these events worldwide, and I wondered, could we change that?”

Following its Australian launch, MISNEACH will head over to Boston, Massachusetts, with Kennedy hoping it will become an essential part of both cities’ St. Patrick’s Day.

“With this inaugural year, we hope to begin an annual tradition that will enrich the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations around the world with music and the arts by showcasing some of the best new and established Irish musical talent, as well as [the] musical talent of the Irish diaspora,” he explained.

“We will also be giving back to the communities in Ireland and the host cities. I’ve been lucky enough to feel the love that the world has for Ireland and its music, and I’m so excited to be starting something very special.”

Now, ahead of its Sydney launch, MISNEACH has provided all the important details you need to know.

VENUE & SITE MAP

It all kicks off on Sunday, March 16th at The Domain in Sydney. It’s nicely situated in the midst of the Sydney CBD with plenty of public transport available.

Organisers have also unveiled the site map should you need a little bit of help on the day. Entrance to the festival is off Art Gallery Road, right by the Art Gallery Of NSW. There's plenty of open space, with food, drink, and toilets in abundance.

SET TIMES

Get ready to plan your day to ensure you don't miss out on who you're there to see.

Doors open at 11:30am, with Fynch kicking off proceedings just 30 minutes later. There's no clashes, either, with 20-25 minutes between each act, so you won't need to worry about missing your favourites.

It all wraps up just before 11pm on the night, with Dermot Kennedy closing things with a 90-minute set. You can find the full set times here.

MISNEACH X The Doss House

If you don’t know The Doss House, you soon will! It’s an intimate underground bar built in the 1840s, nestled in the historic heart of The Rocks. Known as one of Sydney’s finest establishments, they’ll be bringing its signature atmosphere to the festival with the exclusive Doss House Seisiúin Area in The Domain – a celebration of Irish culture, tradition, and music.

They’re also giving you the chance to have your moment in the sun, with two rising artists set to be given the once-in-a-lifetime chance to perform on The Doss House Emerging Artists Stage.
