Sydney's The Tambourine Girls are ramping up to the release of their debut album later this year but, in the meantime, the Sydney outfit is unveiling new cut Police, proudly premiering on The Music today.
Police is the first taste of the forthcoming full-length, and it comes bearing the hallmark talents of producer Tim Whitten (Powderfinger, Hoodoo Gurus and The Go-Betweens). The track's moody, monochromatic lyric video is indicative of the album's eclectic array of Britpop, country, psychedelia and rock influences.
The Tambourine Girls, a four-piece devoid of tambourines and/or girls, was created by Simon Relf, former guitarist of Deep Sea Arcade. Signed to Chugg Music, the band first emerged in 2014 with EP The End of Time, and have since toured with the likes of Megan Washington, The Preatures and Tigertown.
The Tambourine Girls will be celebrating their single launch at Sydney's Oxford Circus on Friday 13 May. Tickets are $10 at the door.
