300km south of Eora/ Sydney is a small town called Moruya, the birthplace of rock group Nancy and the Jam Fancys. Their band name inspired by an acid trip vocalist Lewis Griffin shared with two local pigs Nancy and Jam Fancy, they're a fresh-faced and fresh-sounding 5-piece, whose debut single Carmen Electra alongside a self-made music video makes its first appearance today.
Recorded at The Drop Studio in Wollongong by Darcy Rosskelly, Carmen Electra fires away with a high-octane drum beat, the mighty rings of scratchy electric guitars, grounding bass pumps, and powerful yet soulful rock and roll vocals. On the making of the accompanying music clip, Nancy and the Jam Fancys share “We did the video ourselves with the intention of spending no money. We thought the juxtaposition of a band playing amongst a bunch of poker machines would make for an interesting/provocative concept. Turns out everyone left with empty pockets and woke up with sore heads. I guess the house always wins.”
