"The idea is that these messages could ripple through the world on their own creating awareness or connection in our communities."
"Mostly it's about delivering the song honestly for me," says Pete Allan of his Ripples EP. "Each song on Ripples has a message for sure. The idea is that these messages could ripple through the world on their own creating awareness or connection in our communities. If I get to be the one sharing these messages on a stage then that's a real honour for me."
His journey into the realms of coastal, surf folk began in 2012 when "A friend convinced me to let him use some songs in his surf doco. My first EP Under The Surface [was] born and I started performing live. I've been working tirelessly over the last three years to develop my sound and create the new EP." Recorded at Heliport Studios on the Sunny Coast, Allan "worked with producer Elliot Heinrich [Ayla, Pop Cult] along with some great musicians I'm lucky enough to call friends.
"Some of the songs are inspired by specific situations or people in my life, while N.B.T.M challenges the idea of being better than someone else. Inspiration can come from a word, a conversation, the environment I'm surrounded by, or a situation that left an impression on me."
