Attention all cheapskates and cheap dates.. An important part of being an adult is learning how to manage a budget. When you learn how to do that, please let us know because we still haven't figured it out. We prefer this method: lose track of how much money you're spending on everything, end up broke by Friday afternoon, and rely on the $10 in spare change you found on the floor of your car (more life advice: don't clean your car) to get you through the weekend. When you've been making do on a tenner every weekend you learn pretty quickly how to avoid doing expensive shit, so we're here to share our learnings with you. Think of us as that token, wise older sibling that's been around forever and always knows where to go to score... free stuff.  (Image: Chloe) JUST WHAT THE DOCTOPUS ORDERED If you like seeing bands that are energetic, talented but still not afraid to take the piss out of themselves, Doctopus are for you. Jam City remixes Kindness' Who Do You Love, and offers a newbie of his own, Crisis.. Night Slugs' producer Jam City has given Kindness and Robyn's track Who Do You Love, of Kindness' Otherness album, a moody, metallic remix for a forthcoming remix EP of the track. Jam City was in the studio with Kindness when he started working on the original sample for Who Do You Love, and helped Kindness with a few tips, so his inclusion in the remix EP was a natural step: "I had no idea what Jam City would come up with, but I'm honored he's re-worked Who Do You Love into something so Jam City-ish!," Kindness told FADER. The remix EP is out early January and will also feature remixes from Joakim and Jeremy Sylvester. Stream Jam City's remix of Who Do You Love HERE. London producer Jam City's behind some of our favourite tracks, he provided the production for Kelela's Keep It Cool, of her incredible CUT 4 ME mixtape from last year, and also collaborated with Oakland rap duo Main Attrakionz for a trac

Electro-pop duo GRRL PAL release another killer single, NGHT.. A few weeks ago saw WA-based electronic duo GRRL PAL re-enter the fray after a lengthy stint in the US living and working with producer Parker Ighile (G-Eazy, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj), and already great results in that return tune - Paradise. With a promise at the time of releasing a new song each month, we're very excited/proud to premiere the next fruits of those overseas labours in NGHT, and its fun video clip below that: Follow GRRL PAL: FACEBOOK

The next best thing to actual barrels if you ask us.. During last week's Electronic Music Conference we had the pleasure of stumbling across Adelaide trio Flamingo's set during one of the EMC Play nights, and it was a cracker. Their tropical-feeling name is indicative of the music they put out - a very laidback and groovy type of beatsy electronica, and you can get a nice taste of it in the video below, for single Drip Away. The clip itself is the perfect accompaniment, and looks super fun - crafting mega barrels with only a tarpaulin, it is full of froth and summery stoke, only missing a couple of shakas to complete the whole affair: DRIP AWAY TOUR DATES Sat 13 Dec – The Causeway, Perth Fri 19 Dec – Cats @ Rocket Bar, Adelaide Tue 30 Dec – Lost Paradise Festival, Glenworth Valley Follow Flamingo: FACEBOOK

Flicks al fresco - Luna Outdoor is open for the summer. WIN a dbl pass!. We're feeling a bit, um, "Christmassy" so we've taken it upon ourselves to launch the inaugural Pilerats' 10 Days Of X-Mas - a different giveaway will be up for grabs each day leading up to December 25.Yes, we're aware it's supposed to be 12 Days of Christmas. But there's a limit to how much we can suck up to people for free stuff ;) Did you know Luna Leederville has an Outdoor Cinema right next to the main cinema? Well, now you know. Take advantage of this useful knowledge and head down there this summer – there’s bean bags (have tested, v. comfortable), tables and chairs (if you prefer to sit café style when you’re at the movies), and full access to the Luna Lounge Bar. Pick a flick, grab a pizza from Siena’s or Little Caesar’s up the road, sprinkle it with popcorn, hold tight to your plastic cup of house white while you negotiate a beanbag, and then just sit back and THRIVE. Here’s some assistance on the flick
