What you need to know about your BIGSOUND artists.

Give us a short description of your music: Stadium-folk singer-songwriter with a four-string tenor guitar and a tight band of empaths, inspired by Stevie Nicks, my convict ancestors and my menstrual cycle.

Which acts are on your must-see list at BIGSOUND? The Dianas. Mojo Juju. Electric Fields. Spacey Jane.

Why should people come and see you among the many amazing bands at BIGSOUND? Probably my empowering menstrual mantras. I deliver according to the day of my cycle. I'm a human biology teacher, a storyteller, a catsuit wearer and a passionate advocate of feminine power for all.

What music trends do you think are dominating right now, and do you have any predictions for the coming year? Rawness. I think people yearn to hear authenticity no matter what the medium or style.

In your career to date, what have been the key watershed moments? Singing a song called Blood Is Amazing in a Spiegeltent with 250 people singing along, opening for Rhye, touring UK and Ireland, playing at the Nannup Folk Festival and preaching period power and singing while an assistant handed out chocolate to menstruating members of the audience like the holy sacrament.

What industry lessons would you like to take away from the BIGSOUND conference? Planning a good release strategy. Knowing how much to spend on servicing a release. Building networks to create a good team around a release.

What do you identify as the most pressing issue impacting the Australian music industry at present? Local music being celebrated so that towns can feel proud of their own musicians. Supporting sustainability particularly for women with children.

What is the best bit of advice you've been given to prepare for your time at BIGSOUND? Pace yourself.

When and where is your BIGSOUND showcase? 4 Sep, The Zoo, 9.40pm; 5 Sep, The Brightside, 9.50pm.
