"Adelaide is this magical artist wonderland full of art and love and exhilarating risk."

Describe your show in a tweet? A darkly sumptuous chamber cabaret by @jenkingwell with Aurora String Quartet #thelotuseaters #adlfringe

What was the inspiration behind your show? This show explores many of the same themes as my debut EP, also called The Lotus Eaters — fugue states, personal and universal mythologies, avoiding addiction and complacency... as well as radical cheerleaders and Bob Brown.

Tell us a bit about the creative team working on this project? I wrote the show and much of the music, and am performing this season with Aurora String Quartet, an incredible local ensemble. I also worked with my dear friend and Adelaide Fringe veteran Emma Clair Ford on the creative development.

What do you love about Fringe and why? I've only ever visited Adelaide as a performer, the vast majority of times during Fringe, so for me Adelaide is this magical artist wonderland full of art and love and exhilarating risk. It puts me under a spell! Radelaide forever.

When and where is your Fringe show? At the home of Adelaide cabaret, La Boheme, from 2 — 6 March.
