Meg Mac talks the ups (and downs) of moving interstate as young artist.. Meg Mac is an Australian act very quickly on the rise. We first fell in love with her when she guest vocalled on one of our earliest Pilerats Records releases with Sid Pattni - Go Back Home (listen HERE), and it's been rad to watch her rapid climb to high rotation on triple j, along with a recent sold-out national tour. Meg grew up in Sydney, before relocating to Perth to study, before relocating again, this time to Melbourne. It's a move that is clearly paying off so far, and we were really interested to find out what it was like for a young artist furthering their music career whilst also dealing with moving to a new state. KLP drops a new tune ahead of her first ever live tour.. After a stellar year that's seen her rocking DJ sets around the country, releasing some killer music and taking the reigns of Triple J's House Party each weekend, KLP is dropping a new single and has announced a heap of shows over November/December to celebrate. Medicine is sultry slow jam, produced by our very own Sable, and will basically force you to grab someone on the d-floor for some loved-up slow dance vibes amidst KLP's usual brand of upbeat electronica. Triple J's Matt & Alex offer the soundtrack to your week with 7 LAV's.. Triple J's latest Like A Version CD is out today (October 10), featuring 19 tracks along with 19 live videos of our national youth broadcaster's favourite selections over the course of the year. Those with a keen memory regarding things on the internet may recall an article we wrote like almost two years ago having a dig at bands' poor choices of songs to cover. And while we were young and precocious then (as opposed to old and haggard now), we like to pretend that some bands actually read the article, 'cause the lineup for LAV 10 is pretty killer. Heaps of bands dug into the deep back catalogues to re-do some old favourites, while the newer song cover choices also hold up. ANNNNYWAY, Morning Show champs Matt & Alex have thrown us a little playlist of featuring one Like A Version per day, for your perusement/listening. Zhu's debut live show at Listen Out approaches.. Listen Out kicks off in Sydney and Perth this weekend, and we're looking forward to it - that's how devoid of creativity I am right now. Anyway Zhu will be playing his first ever live shows over here, which makes sense since you get the feeling Australia has grabbed onto the producer's sound harder than anyone else around the world. The Nightday EP, featuring breakout hit Faded has been killing it, and as a special pre-Aussie tour treat, he dropped a sneaky little cover of Chvrches' Gun last week, premiered on Triple J.
