More goodness out of WA, this time from indie-pop dudes Rainy Day Women.. Following a video premiere last week for hard-rocking WA outfit The Love Junkies (check Television HERE), we're very #PerthProud today to unveil some more goodness out of our fair corner of the world in Rainy Day Women's latest single, Mrs Jones. And while we're not quite into the summer months yet, the Rainy Day lads have provided another summery sing-along slice of indie-pop. The four-piece have long flown the flag for WA's long and healthy tradition in pop-rock outfits (think The Sleepy Jackson, The Panics, Split Seconds), and Mrs Jones sets 'em up nicely for the sunny months that feel so close, yet so far away. They're supporting Meg Mac around on her upcoming Australian tour, and you can check the dates after drifting away with Mrs Jones for a few minutes below: UPCOMING SHOWS: FRI 12 SEP | NEWTOWN SOCIAL CLUB, SYDNEY NSW (SOLD OUT) SAT 13 SEP | NORTHCOTE SOCIAL CLUB, MELBOURNE VIC (SOLD OUT) SAT 20 SEP |
The 2014 Radiothon is taking over four Northbridge venues for an epic pledge drive kick-off.. Perth institution RTRFM is an entirely self-funded enterprise, and each year for 10 days the radio station calls on you, the listeners, to give a little back over the course of a 10-day Radiothon Pledge Drive. One of the many ways you can do it (check HERE for all the details) is simply by attending the 2014 Radiothon Party, going down Friday August 15 across four Northbridge venues - The Bakery, The Bird, Ya Ya's and Flyrite. Each venue hosts four unique line-ups, featuring some of Perth's best and brightest: THE BAKERY - Savoir, Rainy Day Women, Kučka, Davey Craddock & The Spectacles and The Weapon is Sound. YA YA's - Dream Rimmy, Loners, HAMJAM and Hideous Sun Demon.
The song marks another taste from the WA four-piece's forthcoming debut LP
“We want to be the best we can, and we want to match the output and the experience of the other bands who are playing those festivals."
The Fremantle based group will be over east in March.
Four of WA's finest give their thoughts on playing the legendary Big Day Out.
Rainy Day Women provided a very suitable local aspect to the closure of what has been an absolutely amazing exhibition.
