'We are working very hard to ensure events like ours continue for years to come.'
Australian event Hidden is assuring punters that its Sydney event will go ahead next month, as the NSW festival crisis continues to escalate.
With a rally to go ahead next week and almost 90,000 people signing a petition against the state government's policy, Hidden Sydney will be one of the first festivals to go ahead under the widely-panned policy, while it will also be Hidden's first in the city following its inception in Perth.
"We have received countless messages of support and also countless messages from supporters wondering if our Hidden Sydney will be going ahead. We want to assure everyone that we are 100% going ahead as planned on Saturday March 2nd," organisers said in a statement given to The Music.
"After two years of successful, safe and sold out events in Perth, Hidden expanded in 2019 to a national event, also heading to Brisbane, Auckland and Perth. We are incredibly excited to be supporting Sydney music events in a time when we need it most, so vote with your feet and get out and attend your favourite events, we need your support more now than ever.
"It’s been our dream to bring this festival to NSW and we don’t think Sydney fans should miss out, we are working with the New South Wales Authorities & Health to ensure the event will be as safe as possible and enjoyable for all.
"We believe that events like Hidden are an essential part of the culture and music identity of every city and we are working very hard to ensure events like ours continue for years to come.
Acts confirmed to perform at the festival, going down at Sydney Showgrounds, includes Lil Yachty, Kayzo, Troybo, Godlands and Moody Good.
It comes after the Labor party today announced it would invest millions into the NSW music industry and "end the war on music" should they win next month's election.
