12 January 2022 | 9:11 am | Staff Writer

"It was one of the first tracks we put down for the new album but was a bit of a dark horse."

Melbourne-based punk rock band Captives have today announced their new album Return To Mars will release on March 31 ahead of an East Coast tour.

The announcement comes alongside the release of new single and music video Gold, which is premiering today via The Music.

Gold joins 2021 fierce rock anthems Buried & Bones and Villain on the forthcoming record.

Gold has been a bit of a journey," drummer Matthew Damon stated.

"It was one of the first tracks we put down for the new album but was a bit of a dark horse. Now it’s one of our favourites. It’s huge. No fuss. I’m looking forward to smashing this one live!”

The single perfectly captures the anthemic energy that Captives have come to be known by, showcasing heavy guitar riffs and thundering vocals from lead singer Aaron Damon.
