They’re launching their brand new EP Sparkling this evening, which demonstrates a diverse range of sounds within the gothic genre, with the highlight tonight coming in the form of Bee Mantis, which gets even the most sullen in the crowd moving.

The leap of faith had been well worth it. Hopefully he’ll return a little sooner next time.

Although they only played for just over half an hour, everyone felt they’d been given a huge treat and it will no doubt be a show they’ll be talking about for some time to come.

Once a three-song set has been heckled out of them (including the killer I Don’t Want To Be In A Cult No More), and Hunx has fled the stage to the merch desk, the audience, still thirsty for more, flop toward each other, grinning like stroked cats.

Encore number two sees the group sharing the stage with some lucky punters, and Graham’s wife Tina joins in on the craziness, helping to bring tonight’s grade-A gig to a close.

Michelle Xen + The Neon Wild not only have one of the strongest stage presences around, they also deliver an auditory-visual-kinetic experience like few others out there.
