When Yoann Lemoine isn’t directing music videos for the likes of Lana Del Ray, Rihanna or Mystery Jets he’s ripping it up with his own musical act WOODKID.

Like all his creative ventures, his latest video ‘I Love You’ is indeed a visual and aural spectacle in which you can either:  a) Turn off your brain and enjoy the ride or b) Turn on your brain and enjoy the ride.

The video briefly begins with the defeated warrior child from his previous tracks ‘Run boy Run’ and ‘Iron’, but quickly cuts to the model Matkey Lykov as an incredibly hip priest in Kris Van Assche menswear. If the internet isn’t lying he proclaims in Russian, “Today I’ll tell you the story about a man who drowned in the cold waters of the ocean after losing the one he loved. This is the story about a man who died twice.”

Here WOODKID plunges us deep amidst a gam of whales whilst heralding perhaps both a crippling emptiness and nervous optimism towards growing out of the Golden Age-childhood. Pretty spectacular.

Be sure to keep your eyes peels for the upcoming album The Golden Age, due for release in March 2013.
