Check out The Flaming Lips' live cover of Tame Impala's 'Elephant'.
The dudes of THE FLAMING LIPS are absolute quality. Not only do they hold a fantastically quirky, original catalogue, they also amaze us with certain one-offs, such as this rendition of TAME IMPALA's incredible single 'Elephant'!
It wouldn't be a FLAMING LIPS jam if frontman Wayne Coyne wasn't decked out in something ridiculously fabulous. Sporting a fur coat and facial jewels, you'll also find that he's waving a huge sun shade over and around his head. Feeding into the microphone, this creates a swoosh effect to the song as it enters on every beat. The drumming in this cover of 'Elephant' is what dominates the track though, as each hit bursts with vibrancy against the powerful vocals, guitar, bass and effects.
THE FLAMING LIPS' cover is not very different from the original version of 'Elephant', though it's still a good time as the energy built within the four walls of this tiny pink and blue room has been occupied by a group of very talented musicians. Check it out!
